First signings
The Good and Bad
With the first signings completed we have a quick look at those teams making good and bad decisions moving forward.
The good:
· Pitts signing of Mark Giordano – 7mil cap hit and only two year deal. Mark was late to the NHL game spending time developing craft in KHL and other minor leagues until his breakthrough. Though only 33 he likely has several more years left, but Billy was smart and only committed two years where he likely will be continuing his stud rates and leadership.
· Habs and Kings 5.9mil per year for 5 Bobrovsky deal for the Habs is excellent See below for Tyler. That is value money for a hart candidate and the returning vezina winner in the NHL. Tyler currently leads on Niemi and Elliot…the dreaded duo. Uggh. This might be bad for him
· PK Subban 1 year at 801K. UFA next year. Let the planning begin to see who will offer him the monster deal of next years UFA!
· Chara to the Avs for 1 year and 6mil. He is a beast. Still a top two defenseman.
Yandle at 4mil for two years. Solid rates. Overlooked as others look at the more elite dmen.
The bad:
·
· Budaj and Pitts – 8mil per for one year and 4 mil sb. In no world or dimension does Budaj deserve this deal. It is a sim league, but assuredly his lack of experience will be a detriment in the sim? A career back up and 8mil. Wow!
· Habs and Kings for Tyler. Ugly, ugly. Meier is a nice prospect but Bob coming off 2nd vezina and nominted for Hart. And leading on Niemi and Elliott. Ugly.
