Pens ink a deal with 4 of there core players. Tarasenko, MacKinnon, Trouba and Ceci. We feel one of the keys to our future success is maintaining and strengthening a young cost controlled core of players and surround them with high end talent around rentals players or atleast ones with limited contracts.

Tarasenko got signed to another 1 year $6,412,500 cap hit. He is having another very strong season and will be a bargain at this cap hit for what we expect will be a top line player for us next season.

MacKinnon got signed to a 1 year $4,819,500 cap hit. Fresh off his entry level contract Pens take advantage and sign a rising star in the league to another great contract which we can keep resigning 1 year deals to for many years which will keep the hit low. MacKinnon is expected to slot inn as the 2nd line C next year.

Trouba signed a 4 year $3,105,000. Probably our best signing. Trouba will most likely play on our top pairing next year and hopefully many years to come. This will give us a tonne of flexibilty on the back end for many years. We feel Trouba still has a lot of room to grow and being able to lock him in for 4 years is a huge win for the franchise.

Ceci signed a 4 year $2,898,000. Another solid young blueliner who we feel still has not peaked either and will be slotted in on our 2nd pairing next season.
